These are the terms for using OpalMeet. We've kept them plain rather than formal — but using OpalMeet means you agree to them.
OpalMeet is a video and voice meeting app. You can start a meeting and share the link, or join one someone shared with you.
Hosting a meeting requires signing in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure, and for anything that happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, sign out of it and get in touch (see Contact below).
Joining a meeting never requires an account — a name is enough, though you're welcome to sign in with Google instead if you'd rather.
You agree not to use OpalMeet to:
We can remove access to OpalMeet for anyone who does the above. A host or co-host is separately able to remove anyone from their own meeting at any time, for any reason — it's their meeting to run.
A meeting can only be reached with its link or code. Whoever holds a link can share it further, so treat it the way you'd treat an invitation — send it only to people you want in the meeting. What's said or shared inside a meeting is between the people in it; OpalMeet doesn't monitor meeting content, and we're not a party to what you discuss.
If you rate a call or leave us a comment afterwards, we can use it to improve OpalMeet — see the Privacy Policy for how that's stored.
OpalMeet is an early, actively-developed product. We try to keep it reliable, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or exactly the same from one day to the next — features may be added, changed or retired as the app grows. OpalMeet is currently free to use; that may change as paid plans are introduced, and we won't apply a charge to an account without telling you first.
To the extent the law allows, OpalMeet is provided "as is," and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it — for example, a dropped call costing you a missed opportunity. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
You can stop using OpalMeet at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Either way, the meeting data described in the Privacy Policy is deleted on its normal schedule once it's no longer in use.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
